The Federation of Family History Societies (FFHS) publish many useful guides, especially those by Jeremy Gibson and Eve McLaughlin, indexes and other finding aides, as do the Society of Genealogists (SOG). Both issue lists of publications.

Local Family History Societies also publish many indexes and finding aides of a more local nature. The FFHS publishes a list of these from time to time entitled "Current Publications by Member Societies".
